11 AM – How To Stand Out To Potential Sponsors & Secure More Lucrative Brand Deals
While podcast advertising is a multi-billion dollar industry, indie creators barely see a chunk of this pie. In this session, discover (7) actionable ways to make lasting impressions, boost your professionalism, and command larger sponsorship dollars for your show.
Here are the big takeaways from the talk:
- What can you add to your pitch deck to highlight your audiences engagement: subscribers/downloads, followers, engagement, pageviews, email list
- Who have you worked with in the past?
- Media kit that’s thoughtful — it’s a living document to work with brands. Keep it updated with stats and figures; care about your average downloads per episode
- “Not a CPM podcast, I’m a flat fee podcast”
- Say investment not cost
- Say partner not brand or sponsor
- Do a partner debrief after a campaign is over
This was one of my favorite sessions from Podcast Movement Evolutions Part 2!

3 PM – Bringing Your Brand to Life: Making a Brand Impact with Podcasts
When marketing teams create content, success comes down to impact. But with the podcast industry, brand impact can be ambiguous. In this panel, brought to you by the team at Quill and CoHost, brand and podcast agency leaders will dive into the different strategies they use to create brand impact through podcasts. Does a brand have to own a podcast? How should a brand align themselves with their show? How does a brand measure impact? These are just some of the questions we’ll be covering about the on-demand audio world.
“Intentional time spent with a brand”
“Can’t just rely on brand awareness”
If you brand was a ____, what ______ would it be? (Car, food, etc)
Its ____ meets ____ and _______.
It’s Monty python meets office space and Star Trek. (Or something like that)
People make stuff THEY want to hear, not what LISTENERS want to hear
Marketing is half of the scope for growing a podcast
You need other people talking about how much they love your brand — not just YOU talking about how amazing you are
The enemy of a good show isn’t a bad show, it’s mediocrity
Check podcast stats (Apple Podcasts) for listener attention; resist the pull of mediocrity because it’s coming for you!
Who shouldn’t make a branded podcast, an impatient brand!
